So, I'm new to this whole blog thing. I'm a mother of three little boys. My life is definitely never boring with these guys. Hayden is 5. Who needs a girl when I have Hayden! He is for sure a very high maintenance child. He is very dramatic and emotional.
Sawyer is my 7.5 month old. He is definitely a momma's boy. Sawyer is the whole reason for me starting a blog. Back in February he was diagnosed with trigonocephaly secondary to metopic craniosynostosis. An infants skull is actually made up of plates that are separated by sutu
res. When one or more of these sutures close prematurely it causes craniosynostosis. Sawyer has the metopic suture fuse prematurely. He has a ridge running down his forehead, close set eyes and a triangular shaped head. This requires surgery to fix. On July 16, 2010 Sawyer will have an Anterior Cranial Vault Remodel and Frontal Orbital Advancement with Dr Fearon (craniofacial surgeon) and Dr Sacco (neurosurgeon) at the Medical City Hospital in Dallas, TX. I hope to use this blog to keep people updated about Sawyer and his cranio journey.
This is what Sawyer's head shape looks like from the top.
Well, hopefully I will be able to keep current on here! Please visit often and keep Sawyer in your thoughts and prayers in this time leading up to his surgery.
Yay! I am glad you started a blog. It is a fun way to communicate with people. I have had people who I have never heard of contact me about Ben's blog. Your boys are so cute! Mason sounds so much like my Luke. Happy Blogging!
